Joe Tyrpak, pastor
Joe has served as a pastor at Tri-County Bible Church in Madison, Ohio since 2005. He’s been a believer in Jesus Christ since childhood. He grew up in Vermont, North Carolina, a short bit in Moscow, but mostly in the greater Philadelphia area (making him someone who proudly “bleeds green”). He earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, briefly worked in the design industry, taught graphic design, and he has a lifelong interest in the art of animation. Joe completed his Master of Divinity at BJU in 2005, and he is currently finishing his Doctor of Ministry in Applied Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville) under the direction of Jim Hamilton. He and his wife Hannah have four children — Karis, Tori, Jordan & Vera — whom they are seeking to raise in Jesus’ nurture and admonition.
Greg Buchanan, assistant pastor
After serving for three summers as a pastoral intern, Tri-County called Greg to serve as assistant pastor in 2014. Greg was born in Massachusetts and from age six has lived in the greater Syracuse area. Although he grew up in a Christian home, it wasn’t until he was in junior high that he personally repented of his sins and committed to following Jesus as savior and king of his life. After earning a degree in Youth Ministry in 2012, Greg finished his Master of Arts in Bible (concentration in biblical languages) at BJU in 2014. While pursuing those degrees, Greg served as a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Asheville, NC under the ministry of church planter Jeff Kelly. He is currently in the M.Div program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville). Greg enjoys basketball, hiking, kayaking, and being with people. He’s married to his best friend Becca who grew up in Montville. They love partnering together in life and ministry.
Johnny Lausin, Mark Miller & Lee Turley, lay pastors
In 1965 Johnny married his high school sweetheart Alma. By 1972 he was the father of two young children and was convinced of his need for a Savior and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. Johnny loves the Scriptures, sensed God’s call to teach early in his Christian life, and took some Bible courses from the Moody Evening School. He has spent his entire life—except for four years serving his country in the Marine Corps—caring for and tending dairy cattle on the Lausin Dairy Farm. Johnny and Alma have been members of Tri-County Bible Church since 2002. One of their greatest joys in life is spending time with their eight grandchildren.
Mark has served Tri-County Bible Church as an elder for the past 12 years and led Buckaroo Bible Club for 10 years. He realized his need for a Savior when he heard the gospel for the first time at age 27. Mark was personally discipled by the pastor that led him to the Lord, and Mark took some Bible courses through Liberty University. Mark loves to study the Bible, teach Sunday School and preach God’s Word when given the opportunity. Mark is an IT Applications Programmer Lead for Progressive Insurance. He and Angie have been married for 31 years. They have six children and one grandson.
Lee has been a faithfully serving member of Tri-County since 2003. He came to know the Lord Jesus as a young teenager. His belief that God has revealed Himself through the Scriptures has helped him see the importance of reading through the Bible every year as well as spending daily study time in the Word and prayer. He works as a project engineer at Cristal in Ashtabula. Lee and Jenny have been married 34 years. They have five children, 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
